Poems To Say Goodbye
Adieu Mon Amour

poems to say goodbye

A selection of quotes/words from
artworks, lyrics & poems to say goodbye
from the THE LIFE POEMS project.

I Stand Tall
I Walk On

The end is near
I take your hands
We have nothing to fear
Another black hole has bigger plans
On the other side
I want this still
I want your skin
I want your heart
But I can’t begin to heal the fragmented parts
I wait for discovery
For a wake up call
When you sit up tall
And pull me aside
Inside
You say you do
And I know you do
But actions are truth
And I stand alone in our home
All alone
All alone
I stand tall
I walk on
I walk on
I stand tall
I walk on

She Wants You
To Come So Much
She Runs

Wondering where this will lead
When the lights come up
And she leaves
Will you be relieved
Will you want to follow
Give away the worlds you were wasting anyway
Find your strength to build again

She wants you to follow
She wants you to come
She wants you to come so much she runs
After an exposition of weapons
A labyrinth of pretensions
She left you long ago
If you ever paid attention

The slow mornings with tea
Books and flirtatious grins
Are fleeting, no, no more
The empty chair
You longed for oh so long
Feels heavy on the porch when you turn to look her way
Wonder where she lay her head now

She wants no more
She is a hunter no more
She is leading a war
She is a hunter no more
She is leading a war

Who We Were
Supposed To Be

I could tell right away I should know you
You should be in my life
Lightning strikes
But oh too soon
Spring had only begun to bloom
I held on to a past image
Though I imagined I was free
And it chained me
Oh too much
To discuss
The words were swept under the rug
Hidden to us
Restricting the view
To really see you
To really show you
Who we were supposed to be
Here now I am finally free
But this is not freedom
I’m so caught up in you
Still after all these years

Beasts
And Bridges

The castle is pulling up the bridge
In the glow of a memory embraced
In the wonder of whats to come
Will it hurt
Or will it be a release
Am I a beast
To want to take part
Am I going to fall back down
And break another heart
Want to close that door
Seal it shut
Let you make your life
And I will live mine up

Nothing Is
Ever Wasted

I could never say I wasted those years
Cause I grew more than I ever had since
Adding all the years before
The rockets of desire
I wonder how I ended up there with you
Knowing who I was before
But sometimes we must lose ourselves
To find ourselves
Thank you for showing me that
And for helping me become who I am today
